Did you turn that black horn on a wood lathe or a metal lathe?
I'm a machinist by trade and I just bought a Wen tabletop wood lathe and all the fixins' but I'm no good on a wood lathe only a steel lathe.
Just thought I'd ask? Nice turning job. :~))) Your horn looks great. I couldn't do that!

I used a wood lathe, but I suppose if you get it chucked up comfortably it should not matter. Thanks for the kind words!

Wood lathes are a hoot. You're gonna be glad you added that to your shop. And the OP's horn is looking really nice so far.

I'm not sure a wood lathe was the right choice for me, but a metal lathe was completely out of the question. Not enough room OR money!
I agree. His horn looks great so far. I'm excited to see it completed. That some seriously nice color for a Scrimshaw project!
I have a few that color here, but I'm no artist! I can't draw a straight line.:~((((
