I have a GPR and I am thinking of putting a flash cup around the nipple. Anyone have any experience with them or use one on thier GPR?

I use them on all my guns with drum-type bolsters because I have a tendency to pull my forehand back under lock when trying to be really steady. It wouldn't be an issue for a right hander, but it sends hot slag right down the sleeve of this left hander.

I also have GPR's and have no issues with them that would cause me to put on the cup, even shooting a righty left handed and creeping my hand back. The shape of the breech simply prevents the slag from going anywhere. I just held a cup up next to a GPR, and on mine anyway, I'd have to shorten the cup to half its height to make it work.

The cups are cheap, so the best answer is to try it yourself and see if you like it. I don't, but that has nothing to do with you.

I don't have a GPR to try it on but I have one on a C.V.A. Mountain Rifle and a Pedersoli cub .32 . The reason I use them on my rifles is to prevent the cap flash from burning off the finish from the wood around the nipple. I am not sure of any drawbacks from using them. Also if you use the brass cups you can soak them in lemon juice while cleaning your rifle in order to loosen up the flash residue....................watch yer top knot....................

I have had them on all my perc rifles at one time or another. None on any at present. Can't recall why I discontinued using them. But, if there were no drawbacks, I'll betcha they would still be there.

I have them on both my caplocks, and you should still wear shooting glasses. I've had debris come back at me quite a few times.
