Thanks for posting those fine photos of the Manton. They illustrate what I was describing in my positive critique of the TOTW double gun. I would hope that after I am dead someone will read the post and learn from it as I intended.
I would also hope that the maker does read the posts and takes them as such. I am an artist first and my gunbuilding is an extension of that discipline. Artist are used to accepting and giving positive critiques of each others work and is not taken personally. It is a part of maturing as a craftsman or artist to listen to some one elses advice and consider it. Some ideas and points made are worth listening to. I hope the builder of this piece will take it and grow from it. These guns take a lot of study and some may not have the opportunity to do so. It is the responsibility of those who do have the honored opportunity to pass along the knowledge. That is exactly what I and others have done here. Take it or leave it, it is each individuals choice.
