Just returned from a nice long trip to the UK. The eastern part of England/East Anglia has large quantities of flint and is thus used in the building of many old structures, churches, castles, homes, driveqay gravel you name it. Pretty neat to see all the flint work. I was stationed in the area with the USAF back in the mid 80's and always admired it all.

Imagine accidentally bumping into a flint wall while walking. How do they not cut themselves all the time?
It looks like the flint nodules got a good clean break. The walls are surprising smooth. Attached a new picture of and old Abby ruin, you can see in this most of the stones are fairly rounded. In this instance there would have been a cement like facing and you wouldn't have even seen the stones. I have picked up some sharp pieces, I have one piece that has a sharp almost knife edge and it will cut you.
