What do you guys have in a sleeve for your rock scratchers?
I have some elk hide that wants to become a sleeve for mine. Need some ideas.
Here's some I sold in the past and used on all my long guns.

ADK Bigfoot and all. i guess i should have made clear what i meant, i HAVE been told by the better half a million times .
anyway i am looking for ideas for a full length leather case, like the guy's just a little older than me used to cover their rifles, you know guys like Jim Bridger, Dan Boone, and Fess Parker.
thanks in advance for any ideas. I have elk, bear, buffalo, deer, beaver, and coyote hides i can choose from.
i just need to see some examples to get the last two brain cells sparking together so i can make one.
DS.

I understand that,,
What they could do, and what we "have to do" because of current laws are different.
We, have to have a full cover,, They just needed a sleeve,, and that's OK, there's a work around.
Find or buy a cheap canvas sock that fit's for rifle, on-line or even a local gun show ($10).
Then copy the sock with your hide,, but stop short and finish the end as a sock, some-where's around the lock/trigger of your rifle,(I like to cover the lock).
Then make a "boot" section with a draw string,, that will fit over the butt and a few inches beyond the end of the sock.
Now you have two(2) pieces
One that will be a sleeve to protect your rifle that you can walk around with,, and the other end(boot) will be for full closure that ties, for legal transport.

That's the easiest way to make one.

Its not hc but Kibler sells a cloth one with a zipper , like a modern shotgun case. Long enough for a 48 inch flint gun. Its padded and has a place for your range rod
