I learned from books and internet videos and so can you! Actually I have found muzzle loading shooters some of the very most eager to share what they know with others as well as interested to learn new ideas and techniques. Thing is they also don't suffer fools well as life is to short to waist it on folks that never intend to learn anything other than what they presently know. I position my flint where it strikes the frizzen as high as possible. More sparks.
[/QUOT Is the flint cutting a groove at that high spot on the frizzen and how is your flint edge life.? If both are good than your good to go! If the flint life is short and your cutting a groove than the impact angle needs to be increased.
