Keep your flints dry, no oil, no water. Both will affect sparking ability. I periodically wipe my flints with alcohol while shooting.The topic was flint.
It'll cut through just fine.....but what it shaves off won't be much sparky.It,s a pretty dull flint if it wont cut through a film of oil.
