Hey all! I know that variety is the spice of life but sometimes you wanna keep stuff similar for the sake of purchasing supplies. Anyway, I have a Kibler Southern Mountain Rifle which I absolutely adore and it fits the #6 English flints very well. I liked the quality of the lock so much that I bought the round face lock for a smoothbore I'm having a good friend build me. My question is for those who have experience with both locks. Can I get away with using the #6 flints in the round face lock and just add some thicker leather to make up the size difference? The recommended sizes are the same in one dimension for both locks but I don't know if flints are sized length x width or vice versa. If it's length x width I think I can make it work but if it's width x length, I think I might have some issues. Any input would be great.
