Just finished this today, it was started in February.

Stained with viniger/iron and sealed with boot dressing.

great design! i really like the small rod, which i assume fits into a hole in the cock screw to tighten doen the new flint ... wicked cool!

3-4 oz veg tanned, hand stiched with Crawfords Irish Linen, 3/32nds diameter music wire to fit the the top jaw screw with a mammoth ivory button.

For me this will hold what I need for a long weekends event as I always start with a new rock anyway.

Good evening my friend, I noticed that you used a vinegar/iron stain, which I have successfully used myself - do you know of any stains to produce different colours? I have meant to try vinegar/copper, but not gotten round to it yet.

I am going to experiment a bit though, cannot hurt anything and may come up with a useable variation.

You can finish with shoe polish and get brown but in my experience it's not very colorfast.
