Those are good little axe heads and are still being made one of the hardware stores in town still had them a couple years back , I bought 2 or 3 cause they are so handy.They were 14 bucks each, I tossed the handles in the woodstove and made new ones out of oak.To keep the handles tight I used a couple of horse shoe nails instead of a wooden wedge, never had one come loose yet.
 
My God those jackrabbits are big! They make our southern cottontail look like a midget. I can't believe you can get so much meat off one of those jacks. Awesome story and pictures.
