Hello everyone,

I was given some money from my Great Aunt when she passed away about one month ago. I was very close to her...she was like a third Grandma to me while I was growing up. To make a long story short...I have always wanted a flinter. I thought to myself there isn't a much better way to remember her then to make a muzzleloader in her name and pass it down the family. My question is what kit should I order...Jim Chambers, or??? I have accomplished two kits so far and I would like something with very high quality parts that the family would be proud to hand down the family tree. I plan on really taking my time to make this muzzleloader. I am willing to order parts or what ever from different manufacturers if that would be the way to go.
Thanks in advance for you help in this matter...it means a lot!

You could not go wrong with a Chambers kit. Call and talk to Jim or Barbie. Tell them Steve Zihn told You to call. They are at Friendship now, and the NMLRA nationals, but will be back in about a week.
What type of rifle are you looking for?

Also.....
where in Wyoming are You? I am 10 miles from Shoshoni.

I guess it would depend on what kind of rifles you like if a Hawken then my choice would be Don Stith if an eastern style then Chamber's.You are in an enviable position.Take your time look around and get your self something you will be real happy with.I think it's a great way to remember and honor your aunt.Good luck...rusty

I am looking for an eastern style flinter, it can be a fowler or a rifle. I think I will know it when I see it. That is why I need information from all of you so I can look at what is out there in choices.

I live in Powell, Wyoming.

I did call Jim Chambers office and got a very nice lady...not sure who she was but she was very helpful and knowledgable. I am going to visit my Dad in North Carolina and they said I could come buy and get a tour and possibly pick out a stock and barrel.

Outstanding!
Jim and Barbie will give you the "grand tour".
They are super nice, and also extreamly helpful.
Hope your trip goes well.

Carefull now! It is known that flinters can be addicting. You may find yourself daydreaming about them more than girls. You will be looking at things and seeing how they can be modifed or used on your gun, equipment, etc. Things that flash will excite you. ENJOY!!

Well I guess I am looking at the right place for a flinter...I really like the York rifle that Jim Chambers sells. At least that is the one I am eyeing so far.

Thanks for your input! :hatsoff:
