Hello all. Not knowing anything about either, which makes the better lock, Siler or L&R. I believe that these would be my only choices in a particular kit I'm looking at. I'm waiting for more info on the kit so I don't even know if there are different models of each or if they only manufacture one type of flint lock per company. Any info you guys can provide would be terrific. Again I'm in your debt for all the info Ive gleened from this forum. Uncrichie...

I'd go with the Siler myself. Jim Chambers also gives a great warranty with his Silers. L&R has given quite a few people trouble with soft frizzens and some poorly tuned locks.

I would go with the Jim Chambers,L&R makes a good looking lock,but.......I have known several that have had mainsprings to break. I have a friend that has had to replace 3 . I won't use L&R till they change their spring supplier or have a warranty. :m2c:

Someone else on this forum asked a simular question and it was pretty much the same answer as you have recieved so far.... Most said Jim Chambers locks are by far the best on the market.
