Fusil de Chasse .62 Cal straight smoothbore, uncommon brass mountings, nicely figured maple stock, bore is clean and bright, lock works very well and frizzen shows almost no wear. Nice fine blade front sight.
Length of pull is 14", weighs 8lbs. Looks like maybe an older kit build and is overall very solid. Would make a great piece for somebody wanting to get into smoothbore shooting or just something a little different than the typical iron mounted Fusil.

Looks like it might be a Centermark kit or assembled from some of their parts. That Davis lock is a dandy. I wish they still made them. That's a very fair price, best of luck in your sale.
I'm thinking that's a Fusil Fin kit from R.E. Davis. I have one of the earlier ones that looks identical but the barrel, lock and side-plate has a bare steel finish. Mine has a 50" barrel which was available on the earlier kits. RE Davis still sells the kits in either brass or steel finish but barrel is now 44" I think. They are very nice guns with cast-in engraving on trigger guard and buttplate.

RE Davis did sell a Fusil Fin a few years ago with a 48" barrel. RE Davis Company | French "Fine Fusil" Kit The furniture on this one is different from that kit and RE Davis sold out to the Log Cabin shop maybe two years ago. That lock hasn't been offered for maybe 5 years now. It was designed by Pete Allen who was unable to make parts for it due to age/illness. I'd heard his son was trying to take over the lock business the last time I was a the Log Cabin Shop but nothing definite.

And you're right. It was a very nice kit!
