Good choices.I've bought 2 guns in my life, a Mossberg 500 and a Lyman GPR Flintlock. It just felt right.

Perhaps I missed it, what is the range of the pins from the bench? Semper Fi.
Hey Mark, I finally got to shoot my 20 Gauge/62 caliber Rogers Rangers flintlock, smoothbore. I have only shot balls so far. I do have wads and shot, which I will try later. My next step will be to try to actually hit something with the gun. After that, I will try my Pedersoli 45 caliber, flintlock pistol.Oh...I LOVE shooting both styles. The flint guns are more thrilling to operate for sure!!!.
I don't look for easy guns to shoot. That's what modern guns are for.
I probably have more SNAFU's that anyone out there shooting these rascals!
However, I do get requests to post some percussion videos often too.
Therefore...I stick an ol' cap gun video in here and there.
Thanks for watching my friend....God Bless.

You're gonna love that smoothbore! I can't hit much with my ol' junker, but, I LOVE shooting it!Hey Mark, I finally got to shoot my 20 Gauge/62 caliber Rogers Rangers flintlock, smoothbore. "Languish" - I love it, lol...I shoot flintlocks, the others languish where they sit.
I agree."Languish" - I love it, lol...
To answer the OP's question, I think clearly percussion rifles are easier. I would also say that "easier" may not be the best word choice. I think flintlocks are easy - now... But it took me a while to learn how to manage and feed them. The learning curve is much shorter with a caplock.
