Beautiful morning at the range...and I fired off 4 salutes to the following:

The Militia at Concord / Lexington, and the entire Revolutionary War;

All Military participants in all wars since;

A salute for Out-A-Huntin...and the others involved with Afghanistan and Iraq;

And a salute in memory of CW historian Shelby Foote;

All more good reasons to go to a range and make smoke !!

Was surprised no one else showed...got there at 6:50am, set up and ran through my session, packed up and left at 8:30am, never saw another soul
:)

Amen, and well met. I got out this afternoon and celebrated my Fourth with some smoke and soot. Three days in a row of shooting - life is good.

Took a 1# coffee can up the hill and just blasted away at it with my .54 flinter. But, after reading your post earlier I dedicated each shot in prayer to those who have and are making our freedoms and liberties possible.

Out a Huntin - I nailed the can good for you. :front:

loaded 30 gr of fffg and a .58 ball into my repro Harper's Ferry flint pistol and fired it...I've had that gun since 1985, and this was the 2nd shot fired from it...pretty satisfying noise,,,pretty big hole in the backstop, too. Hank

Roundball and Stumpkiller,
Thank you for thinking of me and firing off a few rounds. I'm amazed at the support I am getting from all of you fine folk. I tell my troops every day that we are very well supported by folks back home. I hope that someday I can meet you all and make some smoke with you. God bless you all and god bless America!
