Lyman has the Trade Rifle in flint listed on their website, but to order it directly from them is $390. Midsouth only carries the percussion version ($232). Does anyone know of any dealers who carry the flint version for a decent price?

Recommend that you call Midsouth direct. I inquired about a special order for a Lyman flint Trade Rifle from Midsouth when I was trying to decide what flinter I was going to learn off of while my semi-custom was being built over the next 12 months. Thirty days ago, Midsouth told me they could special order a Lyman Trade Rifle in flintlock for $255. All you have to do is go to their website and follow the instructions for a special order. You can e-mail or call them. Midsouth is a great business--I've used them for a long time with absolutely no problems and terrific service.

Good Luck,

Rex,

Try D&R Sports Center they should have it and cheaper then Midsouth Shooters Supply. Also, give Dixon's a call. I know they have a bunch cause I was there last week.

Good luck,

Thanks for the replies. You guys gave me some good leads to follow up on. Much appreciated.

I couldn't find Dixon's on a search. Do you have a link for them?

You can special order a Lyman Trade Rifle in flint from Wally World for $227.96. I was in there last week and purused their special order catalog. They can also order GPR's, flint/perc, complete rifle or kit. The completed rifle was $336.76, kit $266.50. Let us know what you end up with!

There's a link for Dixon's in the Muzzleloading Links area of this forum.
I didn't even think to look there. I'll try it as soon as I turn my brain on... :shake:

Thanks for all the help!

I bought my .54 caliber flint Trade Rifle from D&R Sports. It was the best price I could find on line or in any store near me. So far I have a few complaints about the rifle but I am getting them fixed. It is a good shooter...
