same here!Errr. If having 3 flintlocks is “crazy” then I am in serious trouble.

What did you end up getting?I got my first black powder muzzleloading rifle around 1986-7 . It was a Percussion cap kit rifle from CVA. A lot of years have pasted but just last month I got my first flintlock rifle. Wish I went flint years ago but better late than never.
I got a Traditions kentucky flintlock and put on a L & R replacement lock. And I'm have a blast with it.What did you end up getting?
I feel your pain, I have 5 flintlocks, 1 caplock and no kids and at 72 years old not planning on having any. I just hope the nephews get over those new fangled guns and learn to appreciate old time excellence.I have 3 flintlocks and 4 caplock ML rifles and I’m pushing 83 years! None of grandkids interested in ML at all! Good quality stuff and all accurate shooters! I’m screwed!
That is the same progression that I went through. T/C percussion kit in .45, then I put together a .50 Pa longrifle flint. Now, I have more flinters than caplocks.I do like hearing of others gravitating toward flint. My first was a percussion but the second one was a flintlock longrifle.
Also never had to sweat the Great Cap Drought!I don't see anything crazy about that. I don't own, and have never even shot any percussion muzzleloaders, but I do have 5 flintlocks.
I got started into black powder with a flintlock and never found any reason to buy a cap gun.
