Hey FishDFry doesn't your wife shoot also? Mine said it was cute and even after she saw the price she wanted it for a lawn ornament. But I live in the suburbs of NYC and even if I don't fire it I'm sure I would get to know the local constables. Maybe I can just keep it in the living room.

No she does not shoot, at least not much. She has 2 rifles
one a nice custom build.

Wanted a helicopter, she said no to that also.

The vast majority of the cost is clearly in the carriage.
It better be gold-inlayed.

I've bought guns that sit in plain sight and my wife hasn't noticed them but I don't think I could pull that off with a cannon..

You aren't trying hard enough. My .75".

I'm new to this game - what's a 'normal' price for one of these in a 1/2" to 1" bore?

I'm afraid I've gotten infected and want one. You guys are a bad influence.

Normal price?
Like most anything else. Are you looking for the highest quality you can find or the least expensive thing you can buy?
You get what you pay for in my opinion.
There is no such thing as museum quality for bargain basement prices.

That gun firing a blank charge.
