April 27-30th this year. Anybody been to it? What's it like? Do you have to dress period to get in and shop?

Hey WildatHeart,you don't have to dress period but we do.Anything you could think of buyin' will be there at a couple different places.The GNAR is right up the road in Pa.the same weekend.We take a long weekend and hit both.More blanket traders at the GNAR.Both places are great fun.

WildatHeart,GNAR is the Great North American Rendezvous,Inc.,Newville Pa.It's definitely a rondy affair.More blanket tradin' and seems like more campers than[url] Ft.Frederick.In[/url] my opinion The fort is more touristy But the reenactors are much more PC,It is a juried event for the campers.The GNAR is just a good time rondy.We usually go up on a Friday evenin'and get a motel in between the two(motel militia We'll hit Ft.Frederick in the mornin' 'til about noon then go to Newville in the afternoon.We'll either stay there for the night or get a motel(depends on how we feel) then do it again Sunday.Like I said,we do most of our shoppin' for the year at the two,at least until the Eastern :winking: Both are great events.Definitely gives ya the two extremes(bad choice of a word)of this great hobby.You can Google on either place for more info.Hope this helped.

Hello 2Crows, if you can how bout emailing me some info as to the hotel you stay at, etc. If I can get the 29th off I can do the same thing and come help you guard the south wall while Ben Skeeter Joe gets some sleep. Plus I can oogle his new guns. Drop a note when you get a chance. ( I plan to daytrip OVPR and camp with the gang for Memorial day). Later friend.
The GNAR is starting the weekend before and lasting the whole week. Since Fort Frederick limited the campers to the time period of the fort a lot of them go over to GNAR.
