I am guarding the gate at Fort St Jean Baptiste in Natchitoches, LA last Saturday at our Spring gathering of the Comp. Franche de la Marine, although few Marines showed up....thus a militia guard! It was a good weekend, but quiet--we had just over 100 tourists come through. Great venison dinner Sat night. If any of y'all get close come see the fort--it is a close copy of the early 1700s original.

We were far enough north to avoid the worst. The fort grounds lost some trees in the second hurricane, but the fort stood up OK.
