Squat away, I don't mind. Just clean up when you leave. ::

I was there a couple months ago and saw 6 javelina, about 30 deer, one pronghorn and dozens of jack rabbits. We see mountain lion tracks, but not the cats. There are wild burros crossing our place every so often as well. Great high desert country - about 5,500 feet.
