What do you guys think? Lock has a functional half and full cock and was obviously a flint at some point. Age, region etc?
i believe it was a smooth bore originally, the stock has obviously been cut but appears to have been done long ago. Makeshift nose cap installed. Stock has been “worked on” or stabilized at one time. The barrel fits to will in the places that are left to be from a different gun I feel. Either way I figured for 75 bucks can’t go wrong!Interesting. Was this originally a full stock, flint rifle that was converted to smoothbore? Looks to me that the barrel and stock are not original to each other. I don't know why but to me that firearm screams New Orleans.
I 2nd that, as the ‘barleycorn’ front sight blade and early French fusil sideplate scream ‘French’ to me!Has a French style to it.
That’s dang near the same side plate!I 2nd that, as the ‘barleycorn’ front sight blade and early French fusil sideplate scream ‘French’ to me!

It does have a touch of Buccaneer styling to it.I also find the butt stock interesting and it has a large belly in it. Kind of like a Club butt but not as pronounced.
Wish it still did look like that one!Kinda looks like this one. Not exact ut a very similar style. could have been what it appeared like when it was first made:
