I would recommend the running boar and woodswalk for the first time. Not as formal feeling. I mean you do it for score but the atmosphere is not so ........ something. Less crowded, more interaction and talking, not so serious environment. It is not as a competitive feeling as the paper line. But, the paper line is a good one to shoot as well. Lots of good folks there and helpful friendly. There is a lot of laughing and talking that goes on. Be a part of it all.I'd just visit and become familiar with all the in's and out's before trying to actually shoot. The NMLRA is very family friendly, they're always trying to recruit new young people into the hobby. Check their website for more info. Good luck! Yes, shooters are members only for legal and practical reasons.
