Looking to buy / make a simple fringed sleeve that I can slide over the barrel & brass ramrod & thimbles of my .62cal Turkey barrel to help hide it from wary eyes this spring.

This is a picture of a fringed gun case to give you an idea of what I'm thinking off...a piece about 30" to 36" long...couple inches diameter...enough to clear the sights and thimbles when I slide it on...probably stopping it at the front of the trigger guard.

Any good ideas or sources for fringed suede would be appreciated.

Hi, Is this something that you would like to leave on while you shoot or are you planning to remove it while at your stand??? If you cut out for the sights you might just find that this is something you want to leave on.?

Pm me... I have some leather that should work well for your project.

There are camo-"socks" that are made for this purpose, which are far less likely to be seen than the movement of the fringe on that case in the wind, when you are drawing a bead on a turkey. The socks fit over the entire gun, are made of synthetic cloth, mostly gray in color, but also spotted with greens, browns, and blacks.

I have an Elk Skin case with fringe for my Rifle. It looks nice, but I don't think I would want the added weight on my gun in the woods when hunting deer or turkeys. The suede I have seen and used for various projects is pretty heavy stuff.

Let us all know how it comes out.
