I don't think a round grinder on a flat surface is a good idea, not for me anyway.
I agree completely so lets put the Dremel idea to rest. If I have to do this myself it will be with a small file but not as small as needle files.

Years ago when car engines had points, a point file(small, thin and flat) were real easy to get... Just the size to slip in a highspot and take out what is needed.
