thanks for all the input i straightend the crook on the hammer a little and this has solved the problem it must have been bent at some time in the past the flint striking higher on the frizzen now and plenty of clearance thank you to all

Glad it was a simple fix for you. Still, do consider going with the quality L&R rpl lock.
 
Heat and bend the hammer. It will accomplish three things.

It will change the angle so that the screw will miss.

It will allow the flint to hit higher on the frizzen.

It will allow the frizzen to completely close when the lock is at half cock.
