If I decided to convert my percussion to flint ?? Large siler,, if the drum hole does not locate correc can I plug the hole and drill a flash hole in correct position. Probably couldn't use a liner right? Seems that the old drum hole after plugged would most likely overlap where the liner should go. So if they overlap some say maybe halfway that would not be very secure?? Just trying to figure it out in my little brain. Thanks

A picture of the lock area of your rifle would help.

I had a similar situation with an older percussion SMR that had an L&R Manton lock. I removed the drum and replaced the drum with a touch hole liner with the same threads as the drum. Actually, I bought a stainless steel bolt with the threads of the drum and made my own internally coned liner. I did file a screw slot to remove the liner to restore the drum if I wanted to use the rifle as a percussion lock. The pan in the L&R Manton flint lock lined up with the touch hole.

Replace the drum with a touch hole liner and the large Siler percussion lock with a large Siler flint lock.
