I mounted a Lyman sml peep on my Cabela's 54 cal rifle a few years ago and have really liked it. I'm mostly a hunter but have been doing a lot more shooting lately (mostly since joining this forum, go figure). When I changed the rear sight I just left the stock front sight in place (pictured below). Just wondering whether I should consider a different style of front sight (blade, globe?). What have you all used to pair with a rear peep?
Thanks in advance!

I used this Lyman front sight with my peep.

I liked the white bead when hunting. If you want to a fiber optic front sight works great too, but looks even less P.C.

If your purely target shooting, the front sight with interchangeable inserts works, but is not great for hunting.

Also, I remove my rear aperture when hunting and it is more like a ghost ring. Better in low light and still very accurate.

Thanks @Grimord and @jpm1963 !
I've tinkered with removing the aperture completely but so far have always used the larger of the two provided apertures for hunting and shooting. I've got an itch to do something "different" like buy a new rifle, but funds are tight at the moment so kinda looking for a cheap project. :)

I like a white or gold bead for hunting. Although when I was in the service we hunted with a post front which looks a whole bunch like the blade that T/C used to mount on their rifles..

I use a globe front sight with a post. My new rifle will have a similar set-up. I recommend it. NMLRA rules allow a shaded/globe front sight with a post. Of course for an open sight match the rear cannot be a peeper. I do not recommend a front peep for offhand shooting as it is very difficult to hold perzactly on target without wiggle. Some can do it but those are rare individuals, indeed.
