The clean out screw on the side of the drum on my Great Planes 54cal ML is frozen. Will not budge. Any magic remedy's ..

Soak it in liquid wrench, kroil, or other penetrating concoctions , apply heat to the surrounding area and give it a try. If that doesn't work, probably best to leave it there as the next step would involve drilling and using an EZ out (which could break off) or drilling and tapping. If either the ez out or tap breaks off you have more trouble. A little experience in doing this sort of thing helps.

You can also try ice applied to just the screw after all the other measures mentioned above have failed. It takes a deft touch to apply enough pressure into the screw slot along with enough rotational force without allowing your driver to mangle the screw slot. You are using the proper-sized hollow ground bit, correct? That's absolutely crucial and buying a whole set of hollow ground driver bits is the best tool investment you can make for firearm maintenance.

Thanks guy's . Really appreciate it. I love my GP 54. Very accurate & this screw just frustrated me on an otherwise great rifle..
