The curse of the working class...

Tell me about it. I just got paid today, doing bills now and putting as much as I can in savings to move in the spring. Damn check is just shrinking away.....

Beautiful dragoon and well made copy. I have one and it's a lot of fun to shoot. At 600, this is a great buy! If you're on the fence about this one, jump off and don't look back.

Hate to be ignorant on BP revolvers but is this a real Colt or an overseas model?
Lots of information and mis-information out there on Colt 2nd and 3rd Generation black powder revolvers. A quick forum search of ' 3rd Generation Colt ' provided the following which I have added to and edited:

3rd generation models would have been produced from 1994 until 2002 when production stopped. The 3rd generation parts were made in Italy and the USA. They were produced under license from Colt but Colt did not assemble or inspect the 3rd generation series. You can identify the 3rd gen series by the Samuel Colt signature cut into the back strap. The information provided is from Dennis Russell's book on 2nd generation Colt percussion revolvers and their accessories and my many years of collecting Colts. Dennis Russell also provides a lot of information on the 3rd generation Signature Series Colts as well.

The Colt Signature series revolvers were made here in the USA using castings that were bought from Uberti, in Italy.

The Colt manufacturing company decided to make new Colt cap & ball pistols in the early 1970's and produced the first ones in 1971.
These pistols were machined and assembled in Connecticut using castings from Uberti, in Italy.
This production continued until 1982. Because they were new, they were called "2nd Generation" models. Toward the end of production, in 1978 Colt shifted production to a sub contractor in the USA to do the machining and assembly.

In the late 1990's Colt decided to restart production of the cap & ball revolvers. They did this by reenlisting the manufacturing and assembly of the company that made the last of the Colt 2nd Generation pistols in the USA. They called this new series of pistols, 3rd Generation, Signature series.
Again, all manufacturing and assembly was done in the USA using castings from Uberti.
These guns were inspected by Colt inspectors and are considered as being real Colts.

The fit, form, finish and function on these signature Colts is outstanding. I would be all over this one at this price but I have its twin.

Thanks
