The Fort Ticonderoga Grand Encamment is this year on June 24 thru July 8th, the registration deadline is March 15th so coming up if anyone is wanting to attend. I'll be there with my son and our unit from the 27th to the 30th, wondering if anyone was going.

I have planned my summer leave home form Korea around this!

I cannot wait!

I will be watching and not re-enacting as I do not have a full kit together but I am sooo looking forward to this.

Should be amazing!

The spousal unit and I will be there for a day or so also. Really looking forward to it.

Volunteers have contructed a log breastworks for 08. A tangle of abatis will be in front of the breastworks. Sat and Sun there will be 3 Crown Force assaults on the French works comprising a 2 hour battle. Participants have been asked to bring 120 cartridges for each day :shocked2: Lot's of chatter about safety and logistics issues are turning up on the F&I Yahoo groups board.

I can't wait...counting the days.

I'll be fishing on Lake Champlain that week north of Plattsburgh. Maybe if the fishing is slow I'll come down to visit. I've already started with the history lessons for the bass club.

The issues on powder is no different from any other event, powder must be in a leather possibles bag with flap, cartridge box, and be in rolled in cartridge paper. Paper Cartridges are to be stored in cartridges blocks not just piled in your bag, and spare cartridges are to be wrapped in foil and carried in your haversack to prevent sparks from setting them off. Acidents can be avoided this way.
