SOLD G. Washington Flintlock .58 Pistol Silver Mounted

I have for sale an exceptional flintlock smoothbore .58 caliber pistol. It is an exact copy of one of a pair that was gifted to George Washington while he was in the field during the Revolution. This pistol was made by Uberti for the U.S. Historical Society back in the late 70's. There were I believe 900 sets made and they sold at the time for $3000 a set. The mate to this pistol has been lost to time but what remains beside the display case is one fine shootable martial flintlock pistol.
The pistol is stocked in walnut and has a bronze barrel, all of the furniture is sterling silver as I recall the adds nearly 8ounces total weight of sterling. The lock is a jewel inside and out and is a testimony to the English gunsmith "Hawkins" who created the originals and whose name is on the lock. There is a tasteful amount of engraving on the barrel. The pistol is unfired the frizzen has been sparked. The workmanship is flawless and the only detraction is the rammer which had a tulip head that has been broken off. This will make someone an exceptional pistol to shoot or as an accutrament for a reinactor.
I am asking $1000 plus shipping. I doubt the materials to build a pistol of this quality could be obtained for that amount before gunsmith fees. Payment by postal money order or personal check with time to clear.

I own a set of these pistols and I can testify that there's no way you could buy the parts to build this pistol yourself it they are amazing and true replicas of ones that are in the West Point Museum in New York
