I have a Garrett Arms, Norfolk, Va., Mississippi rifle replica from the early '80's. Got at auction several years ago, fascinated by the realistic-looking lettering stamped in the metal, just like the old time style. I understand the percussion Sharps' he imported are highly sought after as well. I've seen another Miss. coming up for sale, but don't really need a 2nd one! They're Italian made, but I believe Garrett specified certain details on them that made them a notch or two grade above the normal imports. Anybody own or have any comments about them? You can look up Garrett Arms and some info comes up, and I understand Mr. Garrett passed away some time back.

Dont have anything to say about the rifles but I have a tin of his caps haha!

I have a Garrett Sharps carbine, proof date of 1977. It performs MUCH better than an IAB Sharps I had prior to that. It isn’t perfect but it does function as it should for 20 rounds or so with an unmodified gas check plate, a fix I had to have done on the IAB. After that number of shots I do have to lube the action a bit. So I think Garrett may indeed have specified better tolerances for his imports - or something.

The Garett Sharps are the finest of those imported.

Shoots great too!

I understand that Pedersoli made the “Garrett” Sharps - is that correct? I also read just recently that they were made with the adjustable chamber sleeve. (NOT to be confused with the movable/sliding sleeve that Pedersoli used in its interpretation of the 1863 Sharps, a design that I understand failed miserably.) If that’s correct, how does one remove the sleeve? If mine has the removable sleeve it’s stuck fast. 😕
