The bloke to my right was the late Mac Caillean Mor, the father of the current Duke of Aggyll.
Yes, a bit of independence, my main family is Irish but grandfather, on Dad’s side, married a Scot.So you're a Campbell, is that an Irish Harp on your Bonnet ?

Goday major and welcome from Norway. I used to have the same musketon a Parker Hale. did you get the mould for it? Other than start shooting it with a moderate load, it is a fine starter piece. 60 to 70 grain FFg and work on different lubes. Lube is the key to good precision.!
Snapshot,
The main Campbell castle is Inveraray, it has some fine displays of muzzle loading.guns including a ‘fan’ of Besses.
I had family on both sides so we won and lostIts probable that those Brown Besses were the Campbell Militia Firelocks in their time, they stood behind the wall of the Cullwiniac enclosure on the Jacobite right wing at Culloden ; and brought a hail of fire on them during their final fatal charge.

Same here, a number of families represented on the losing side and distant Campbells on the winning side; my direct Campbell ancestors were Catholic and lived under the protection of the McDonalds just near Glencoe.I had family on both sides so we won and lost
