She doesn`t really fit into my collection, but she smiled at me.

Gendarmary from the Vatican State
Smoothbore, two -stage, 15 mm ca. barrel.
Lock converted to percussion.
Marked GM für Mazzocchi/Gunsmith

How easy does the front barrel band come off? I don't know anything except I think the French used them while the British pinned everything.
 
Thanks- that's what I thought but wasn't sure. There was another post about "dolling up" a cheap kit gun and I suggested a full stock as the gun came with a half stock and this monolithic nose cap containing a hole for the ramrod. I've done rifles and used wedge plates, etc. but on a pistol a set up with a pin and nose cap might work out well.
