Be careful with 777. It creates something like 15% more pressure. Pyrodex, by volumn, is equal to black powder. As deer season approaches, check Wal-Mart for caps. They normally carry #11 caps during the season.
 
Some of them old 1970's .45's are actually more properly .445-.440 and if that is the situation then you are going to have a hell of a time loading them roundballs you picked up. I would pick up some .433 roundballs and try them out also.

+1 :thumbsup: It's potent, so you can drop the load a bit. Some recommend a 10% to 15% drop in charge over real BP or many of the other substitutes. Works great in percussion guns. Generally, however, it is quite a bit more expensive that what you can get real BP for if you order BP in "bulk"...5 or more pounds.
