Don't know anyone who has them in stock. You'll either have to find someone who has one and beg, borrow or steal it from them, or order one from Getz.

Getz. Prepare yourself for a possible several year wait. You may have better results posting some wanted adds on various muzzleloading boards.

Dillon's may have one but included in a kit only. They had a couple of kits with getz barrels at Dixon's Fair this past Summer.

Buy one every time you see it. John makes fine barrels, deserves the reputation, but can't keep up. I am mostly using Rice when I can't get a Getz as they are available and quality is very good. And they are good old boys. For custom, I am working with Ed Rayl. I still order from John Getz but plan on up to 18 months. As I have several guns in progress, it's not a problem.

I was wondering what he needed, and if it is one I will not use I may trade it to him. Hate to see a guy wait for a barrel that may never show up. Been there done that. :shake:

Sorry..... definately cannot help ya there, as I don't build any smoothbores. I suggest calling Rice Barrel Co. or Ed Rayl & get a barrel with a realistic delivery time.

akapennypincher, Hope this helps. Rice barrels (828)627-8959), Rayl Barrels (304)364-8269, De Haas Barrels (660)872-6308, Hoyt Barrels (717)642-6696, Moody Barrels (417)935-4297. Good Luck with your build....... mgcrumster...

Bound to stir a response, but will post just the same. Getz does a fine job, except for one thing that has bugged me a couple times, and why I no longer use his bbls.

Be sure and check the internal fit of Getz breech plugs, as they can at times be like the box of chocolates Forrest Gump's momma quoted.

IMO, the breech plug fit is a big plus for Rice Barrels.
