Isn't there somebody out there that can take a 50 in the 1:48, easy to get, and bore it out to 58? Heard there was but don't remember who?

Sure, but only if it's a 1" barrel rather than a 15/16" like the TC or Lyman 50's. There are probably other 15/16" 50's out there too. Long ago 15/16" barrels were made in 58 cal, but evidently the lawyers got nervous. Still are, from what I can tell.

yep, on a 15/16th barrel, they'll only go to .54
[talked to several barrel makers]

so i bought a drop in .54 for my lyman.

just saying here..... i've also have a ..62 barrel for my underhammer on its way.

one inch flat, 36'' underhammers are pretty eazy to work with.
