GM Barrel for Lyman Trade rifle?

Has anyone been able to make a Green Mountain barrel fit the Lyman Trade rifle? I was interested in the 32 in long range with 1:28 twist to install in Lyman Trade rifle. I want to order the trade rifle, but would like to be able to upgrade to GM barrel.

Rmcsports.com has the green mountain barrels for the trade rifle. The longest they have is 28" though. I bought one in .32 caliber, left hand model. It is suppose to fit but i had to sand the hook slightly and grind off just a tad of the bar under the barrel.

You did buy a LH GM barrel? I called GM directly and talked to some gal there and she informed me that they do not make LH barrels period is what I understood. Maybe there is hope for me yet...LOL

You know I might have led you astray on this one and if so I am deeply sorry. I didnt see your post when I replied under the percussion forum. It was under new topic over there on the right. From there it just said trade rifle and I answered your post. RMC has the barrels for the flintlock only. Hope this didnt cause you any grief and again am sorry.

I put a 32", roundball twist GM IBS barrel on a flint Trade rifle. It just required some minor filing on the barel lug, to fit the Investarms tang, and I had to shorten the barrel under rib a bit. However, according to my information, the fast twist GM IBS barrels only come in 21" & 28" lengths, not 32".
