Hens and gobblers are legal in the fall. Spring gobblers only and must have a visable beard.

Yeah, sorry about that. I'm not sure why I thought you were referring to the doe. Doh. Yeah, either sex legal in the fall. In fact, that was the first game taken with that rifle and as it was a young hen the rifle has ever since been named "Jenny".

Thanks Jeans. In fact, when I called the builder to tell him that I had made game with the new rifle, he said, "then we'll call it Jenny" so the credit goes to Rick.

If one guy received two junk guns from this fellow, I'd look for another gunsmith to do my build. I'm sure he's done some good work, but it doesn't seem like he took care of the problem with the two bad ones he shipped.

Rick bent over backwards for that guy. I know the full story and knew that the guy was squawking long before he claims the rifle blew up through no fault of his own. He didn't want the rifles, yet he refused to give them back to Rick or to accept multiple reasonable offers (he wanted all of his money back and to keep both guns. If there's a builder out there that's willing to refund all of the purchase price of a rifle and still allow the customer to keept the gun(s), I'd sure like to have his number). He's got a beef with Rick, he made it clear in the other very long thread. Some people pointed out that what he was suggesting wasn't really physically possible but whatever. He was unhappy and refused multiple extraordinarily reasonable offers from Rick to make it right, LONG before he claims this catastrophe.

I'm not going to get into a hissy fight again over this. There are PLENTY of guys with Gobbler Knob rifles that think that they got a great deal of gun for their investments. This guy didn't. If anyone wants to PM me for MY experience with my rifles, I'll be glad to explain. I will NOT get into these claims about unsafe guns but I'm sure that Rick will talk with any potential customers and explain exactly what happened and what he offered to make it right (though I saw many photos of the rifles and don't think he needed to do anything at all since he delivered two beautiful guns for a very, very fair price).

Frankly, this went on for way too long on the other thread and I hope this one gets locked up because the other one was insane and all because of one guy's claims.

The long and the short of it is this... One gun cannot be fired, and the other failed.

If someone asks for anyone with experience or dealings with the builder, I have dealt with him and his product. I would not have any dealings with him again. Seems simple enough to understand doesn't it?

It's kind of like asking for directions. Having travelled that path, I would suggest one to consider another.

I hate to burst your bubble, but I was present when the one "rifle" failed. And the vent liner missed my head by inches. Very scary, to say the least.
I would advise someone in the market for a custom rifle to pay attention to reviews of the product, not the product maker. That's my two cents worth.

I've seen those rifles. The barrels looked like they had been browned by burying them in the dirt for about a year. No exaggeration. GW
