I bought some earlier this year. I have used it in a flintlock, works well. I ran some test loads with it over a chronograph and posted the results here - Post#337300
As you can see from that post, Express ran about 120 fps slower than the same load of Swiss. When both of them cost about the same, it appears the Swiss is a better offer.
There was some controversy here about what Express was exactly devloped for, as a muzzleloader powder or as a cartridge powder. Some of Goex's early advertisment led one to believe it worked in both environments. I don't know the answer there other than to say it performs flawlessly in a clintlock under a PRB.
My overall assessment - Express is not worth the additional expense as it is only marginaly better than regular Goex which can be almost 50% cheaper be pound.

Does it really work in flintlocks???
There is a Bass pro mills in this city and they only carry that jim shockleys stuff and that Goex express...How does it compare to regular goex?? I am kinda untrusting of the subs...But I do like Goex regular b/p.

Bessbattlesystem,

Do you mean GOEX Express or GOEX Pinacle? The Express is real black powder, supposedly a higher grade than regular GOEX.

Pinacle is a subsitute very similar if not the same thing as Shockey's Gold and American Pioneer. Last time I read the small print they were all made buy American Pioneer.

Howdy,

Goex Express was really developed for the Black Powder Cartridge rifle. Although it can be used in muzzleloaders untill the cows come home, the expense is hard on the pocket book.

If thats all you have to shoot, go for it. You will get great results.

Nope its not express but Goex pinnacle big plastic whey protein lookin containers..

Horrible, I am down to about 1/4 a tin of fffg and less then half a tin of ffg

Not counting the 2 lbs of substitute stuff..
