ABout all you can do is call them and ask about their own label powder. I suspect its Goex powder that does not meet Goex standards.

Paul, you are right about this. My brother called recently and asked specifically about the suitability of their house brand powder for target shooting. The folks at Jack's were very up-front about it, recommending branded GOEX for his needs and saying Jack's powder is indeed intended more for reinactments.

My brother is now insufferable when asked about it, claiming he "knows Jack" about their powder. :rotf: :rotf:

So is Graf's house brand powder intended for re-enactments or actually launching lead?

Graf's house brand is made by Wano in Germany, the same company that makes Scheutzen. I have used Scheutzen and find it comparable to GOEX. A friend at my club has used both GOEX and Graf's and said he can find no real difference between the two. This fellow is an excellent shot as well as a knowledgable, avid reloader. I have faith in what he says.

Just a note to those in the Los Angeles region.
(like many areas, Real BP is getting real hard to find)

I just bought GOEX blackpowder from a big supplier in El Monte. Since that is in reasonable driving distance I avoided any UPS Hazard surcharge. :thumbsup:

I believe that the 25lb minimum will apply so splitting the order with someone may be required.
Mixed granulations OK.
I didn't have any club affiliation. The rep is a friendly and helpful guy. I even got some nifty stickers!
No powder at below location, they must have warehouse in a much safer location as they are right next to El Monte airport. Will need at least a day lead time to have it at the El Monte location.

Here is what the rep emailed to me:
"We have an affidavit/ release of liability form that I will need filled out for individual sales, along with a photo copy of your drivers license. Powder will be $12.00 a pound plus tax. This form must be completed and returned prior to consideration of sale. Please forward me your mailing address. If you have a club affiliation or belong to a re enactors group I would prefer a request for powder on said letterhead."
