I just ordered 50lbs at 15:15 EST
I ordered 5lb, which should keep me going for a long while yet!
50LB!? Holy cow, sir, I'm glad I live nowhere near you! How long does it take to go through that? Do you have a magazine for that kind of powder?
First, have you ever had a can of BP self-detonate in your house? Second, why would 50 pounds be more likely to self-detonate than one, two, or three pounds?
Yes, I have a magazine. Will you be storing your 5lbs in a magazine?
As I said, this powder will certainly outlast me. My heirs will have to worry about it then.
All gone guess those 50 pound orders broke the bank.

The only thing they have left is 4f as of this posting.
In the current situation a big order i would consider hoarding & if you can afford to to protect your future needs, why not ? On the other hand if you kept a stock of components & continually restocked plus a little extra each time you purchase i would not consider that hoading but good management & keep your shooting cheaper as prices continue to rise.Folks, it's called hoarding and as a result most of us won't be getting any powder for a while.
And thats how I ended up with many years worth of powder. A little extra every time you get out the checkbook. Just by topping off the pantry when you go to the store for other things.continually restocked plus a little extra each time you purchase i would not consider that hoarding but good management & keep your shooting cheaper as prices continue to rise.

This is going down the same path as caps last year. Panic buyers cant find any, but those who picked up a tin or two every time they stopped at a mom & pop shop for bait are set because they planned ahead. Other powder companies will see this as an opportunity to double up on production to fill the void.
Give it 6 months and I'm sure the panic will switch back to searching for caps again. Especially when powder from other plants refill the market. Guys who buy a case of powder to avoid living through this nightmare again will realize they want to stock up on 3 cases of caps for the powder. Then you start the panic all over again. Hint- pick up a few tins now and avoid the rush.
And while you are planning ahead, pick away at acquiring two or three hundred pounds of lead, NOW. Spend some down time cleaning it and pouring it into ingots and sit on it. All it takes is one government proposal to ban lead sales and the panic to buy it up will triple the prices in one weeks time. You'll wish you had.
It's just plain planning ahead.
