When was the last time ‘current’ production Goex powder was available? 1800 pounds, say 5 pounds per customer, that 360 customers. Don’t see it as a big deal other than getting a new manufacturer’s powder out there to wet the appetite of some pent up customers’ demands. Dribble it out to individual dealers and it’s no big story.
5 lbs per customer? ahahahah 3 guys will buy the 1800 lbs

If dealers are upset because the largest ML competition in the country (90 years old) is 1st to announce such and sell such to ML enthusiasts, on the grounds for 1 week, those few dealers are not in support of ML shooting, IMO.. sounds like they are jealous..

Some of ya are taking my post the wrong way. I am happy there's going to be more powder available on the market. Hopefully with more competition it will keep prices lower than without it. I am stating what other vendors were saying to customers at the event. THEY (not me) were verbally upset that the powder was being distributed the way it was. One vendor stated "I just seen a customer of mine with 5 pounds and they told me to cancel by backorder as they now have powder. "
This is all I am saying. I will be back to Friendship, support the local dealers, support the NMLRA, etc etc etc. I love the sport and been involved in it throughout the USA over the past 40 years I been doing it. I bring in new shooters young, old, men, woman, kids alike. I do a bunch to promote and expand the heritage and culture. Example: I recently introduced ML'ing to a group of fellow Veterans and families (26 people), they got to shoot flintlocks, and side locks or various makes from full customs to factory guns, throw hawk/knife and all. Now we are organizing a traditional ML hunt for them.
I think the majority, if not all of us were directing comments at what you reported, not you. I for one certainly didn’t take your post as an endorsement one way or the other. Just something to discuss on a rainy workday when I cant go out and shoot

To my knowledge, the NMLRA does not buy directly from GOEX, they purchased, as they always have, through the local distributor, Deer Creek Products- who is listed as a GOEX and Swiss/Schuetzen master distributor.

I'm working on an article on it now, but was able to speak with reps from GOEX last weekend. They indicated that their goal now is to fullfill all distributor orders, ideally by the end of the year. From the way the reps talked, most, if not all distributors had orders in and production was ongoing to fullfill them. They've produced "tens of thousands of pounds of powder" while testing the updates to the facility and "see no issue in fullfilling demand".

It looks like their strategy to have powder at the major fall events, with plans to have new production powder at the NSSA Fall shoot. There were a lot of GOEX hats and being worn at Friendship.

GOEX was $24 at the NMLRA, with Schuetzen at $20lbs. Competitive shooters were using the new production GOEX on the firing line and reported they noticed no change from "old GOEX". I didn't get to talk to Deer Creek Products about what the price of powder will be at their shop 40 miles from the NMLRA, but I'm sure folks will know when Jim gets back to his shop after the NMLRA shoot.

I'm not sponsored or paid by any powder company. I bought 3lbs of new production GOEX this round as I have a healthy supply of Swiss and Schuetzen.

I was able to ask questions about the military contracts, production updates and a few other things that I hope to have organized by early next week.

No worries buddy.

Both times I had powder shipped to me the driver handed me the package and said “I’ll just sign for you sir”.
That has been the norm for me too for many years, but FedEx changed their policy a week or two ago. Yesterday my Wife was home when FedEx delivered my Graf’s order, the driver scanned her DL and thumbprint before handing over the box. So be warned.

Happened also with my 1st powder shipment. Next several, the driver just scanned my Dl, since my print was “on file” (so much for not saving identifying info, huh FedEX?).

So how come Schutzen, made in Europe and shipped over here (Imagine those hazmatt fee's😲), can sell for near 20% LESS than Goex?
