Greetings folks,

Looking for some good sources to purchase a case for my long rifle. I'd prefer a hard case but a decent soft case would be fine as well. 55" long.

Thanks much,

Tahquamenon

Also, Cabela's used to have a case for rifles up to 63". It was hard (plastic) with internal metal reinforcing and integral locks, for about $90. I called once and inquired about it, they told me it was a seasonal item. It doesn't currently show up on the website, so if they still carry it, it won't be until the fall catalog is out.

I have a Plano Air Glide shotgun case. I love it as it protects the guns and only touches the buttstock and foreend. Nothing touches steel.

Air Glide

I measured mine. It's 55" long.
HTH,
Jim

Thanks folks.

I think I like the hardshell case at Cabela's. I'll be near the Dundee, MI store in a couple of weeks so I'll take a look.

:thanks:

I got mine at Cabela's in Kimball. It's not a regular item, thus not in the catalog. I didn't see any more for three years after I bought mine. Cabela's is always a good visit, but if that's all you're going for you may want to call.

Also, an outfit called Sportsmen's Guide is selling a 60" 2 rifle hard case for a bit under a C note. Probably Chinese made, but I ordered one as it would hold most of my long rifles.

I have an aluminium case that I bought during the NRA Convention in Reno. Let me see if I can find any papers for it. It'll take a 42" barrel gun but I've yet to see if it'll take the 46" Bess.
