I vote for the New England Fowler. Lots of those are stocked in sugar maple. American restocks are interesting guns. Mix and match parts guns. They are unusual and interesting.

"The first thing I learned about my fusil de chasse was to look over the barrel, (at the front sight) not down it.'

mine came out rather different, when the gun comes to the shoulder the eye looks down the barrel and the fron sight is just visable as a small post above the tang flat, I think the 4"+ placement of the front sight behind the muzzle (in the dip so to speak} helps with this picture, and it all works out to a perfect alignment for 45-50 yd shots, musta got lucky somewhere along the process...

it is 44" long and oct/16/ to round and flared at the muzzle it is from the TOW "Tulle" parts set I think it is a Coleraine barrel 1 1/8 at the breech in .58 bore.it is a bit heavy as the same barrel is used in the .62 but it is not really noticable when compared to .62 barrels I have had.

Mine has a 46" oct. to rd. swamped .62 Getz bbl, the front sight is also set back 4" from the muzzle.

Roy - Make a doglock fowler for me with that barrel. That way you'll not have to fret over what you want to do with it.
