Nice one Bill! The weather is cooling off some this week, so I'm goin lookin fer one on the west side of the Umpqua in the jungles of the coast mts.Killed my first and only one there about 25 yrs ago, and would sure like to get one more with a front stuffer.

It was a lucky stalk. Bear had hit a volunteer apple tree at the base of the cliff sometime Saturday night, Sunday morning. Set up on top of the cliff overlooking the tree Sunday night, but it never came in. Got up early Monday morning and was sneaking along the creek toward the tree and saw the bear coming the other way on the other side of the creek. Dumb luck on the timing.
