First, congrats sir. Job well done indeed!
Very glad I didn’t mislead you on the 370gr Maxi, I have upmost faith in their ability on large game. I am curious on if you got the penetration (pass through) you were seeking? Did you hit the spot you desired as well?

Keep knocking them down. Our rancher said " Choice between a nice buck and that big pig, better take the pig first. " They're getting out of hand real quick.

Yes sir center punched the heart pass through no recovery of bullet

That's awesome. Only big game I ever dropped was a big sow at about 100ft with .451 rlb 135 gr about 5 years ago, with my new model army. Aprx 27 grains of Pyrodex, high behind a shoulder, thru a rib and both lungs, ball recovered just under the hide. Broadside shot.

Congrats on that monster boar, job well done. We cant kill enough. Heard it said, 70% of the pop. needs to be culled each year, just to keep the pop. level. Bringing home the bacon, I'll lift a cold one to that! Nice!

Are the boars worth eating without live catch, castration and a period of grain feeding? That pig I shot, happened to be a sow, if it was a boar, Id'a found out.

yes sir, the rank smell does not come from the meat itself. if you flip a hog on his back, take a box cutter with a tile blade. start from the chest make a cut to about 4 inches from penile tip. at that mark cut diagonally from the pinile tip to each leg. just in front of the penil tip and it goes under the skin is a gland called a precrushament gland (spelling may be wrong) in this gland semen and urine is mixed if you push on the mark it squirts out the penis and is that nasty rank boar foul smell. boar hogs emit this when alarmned mad or marking territory. ive been on 2 hog scent pro staffs one for a buddies company and one for tinks 69 who im good friends with the owner and developer and current trademark owner. on a hog hunting ranch I was the head guide we found this on every boar we skinned. so on every boar I skinned I carefully took this gland tied the tube off and stuck in a freezer bag and froze it. when it came time to hunt I would set the frozen gland up-wind of me and boke a couple holes in it as it warmed the frozen precrushament gland warmed up and acted as a scent dripper this smell would bring the dominant boar in and he was fighting mad hair raised up. hogs through there penis actually spray this mess when mad excited or marking territory
