Got some bear oil today

Local game warden helped me out with some bear oil. He was causing property damage. Warden said if hes not 500lbs, he'd be surprised. Took 4 of us to drag him into the truck. I got close to 50lbs of fat off him. Im 6'4 and he passes me up.

That's a good score. I've been really curious to try rendered bear fat for a patch lube.

Not bear fat, but bear oil. Render low and slow; the result is a tan oil that is sublime. Mixed with beeswax (warm temps) or just plain (cold temps) it is the nuts on linen patches. Makes a great apple pie, also.
