Thanks Bernie.
So far I just cut it off, squared up the cut and smoothed it out.
Might take a small round file and a triangle file and cone it.

 Now that's a real cute idea if you have a spare GPR around. I admire the courage needed to circumsize a gun. Now can anyone do me a favor and larn me something teach!!! What is the derivation or story behind the words "Buffalo Runner?"

When hunting buffalo on horse back they would use a cut down rifle or smoothbore.
While riding and chasing buffalo they were easy to reload and maneuver.

Hi Tom,

a nice looking gun. I think the purists will be very angry about it, but why not. You bought the kit, you can decide how to assemble it.Tell us how it shoots!

Regards

Dirk

Made two knife handles from the cut off stock.

Thanks Frosty.
This is the last one.
No more after this one.
Unless I get a northwest trade gun from north star west.
Then I might get one, buffalo runner.

Welcome to the 51 club. Watch out for that gravity. I've noticed in the last couple years that gravity is getting stonger and stronger. I used to be able to leap into the pickup no problem, now I have to crawl in. I really love the gun. I appreciate it when someone strays from the path. I have the same tendency myself. I am presently gathering up pieces for my next build. It will be a .45 calibre with a 38" barrel that is true to nobody's style but my own. I'm going to call it a "Hans Wilhelm" after my Great Grandfather.

Thanks Brian.
Make sure you post some pics of your rifle.
I know what you mean by straying from the path.
Sometimes you offend other people when your not trying to.
But it sure is a lot of fun when you think outside the box and try new things.
